Tropic Coffee has been roasting in King's Lynn, Norfolk since 1983, founded by Martin Sanctuary and now joined by his son David, who came into the business in 2006. The roastery still works on a late-1950s 76kg Whitmee drum machine, using an authentic open flame method they describe as 'through the flame' roasting.

The team sources single origin coffees from across Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, with a focus on long-standing relationships and full traceability to source. Rainforest Certified coffee is offered alongside the wider range, and packaging is fully recyclable.

Decaf is offered using the Mexican Mountain Water process in both light and dark profiles. Alongside retail and wholesale, Tropic runs a private label service for hospitality and lifestyle brands, develops bespoke blends, and sells unroasted green coffee for home roasters.
