The Old Barracks

The Old Barracks is a specialty coffee roastery and coffee bar based in a 300-year-old building in Birdhill, County Tipperary. A second café, The Sawmills, operates in Limerick, and they also run Guji Coffeebars in Cork and Limerick.

The roastery supplies wholesale to cafés that prioritise coffee quality, with a stated focus on supporting those accounts through setup, training, and ongoing operational guidance. The Birdhill coffee bar offers up to 8 coffees at any one time, brewed to order using multiple methods.

The space notably features Modbar under-counter coffee machine technology, described as Europe's first trendy deployment of the system, which removes the traditional machine barrier between barista and customer. They also offer Sage machine dial-in sessions and a broad library of home-brewing tutorial videos online.
