The Colombian Coffee Company was founded by Eduardo Florez and Gabriela Oakley after both had direct experience of the economic conditions facing coffee-farming communities in Colombia, where producers of specialty coffee were receiving as little as 6% of the final retail value. The business is built around single-origin Colombian coffees sourced directly from farmers, with the aim of closing that gap and giving buyers visibility of exactly where their coffee comes from and who grew it.

Their range focuses on specific varieties such as Caturra, Borbón, Tabi, and Gesha, rather than grouping everything under a generic Colombian label. The comparison they draw to wine is deliberate: just as nobody calls a wine simply French, they reject broad-origin labels in favour of farm and variety transparency.

They sell online to UK customers and position themselves as going beyond Fairtrade in terms of direct producer support and sustainability.
