Smith's Coffee has been roasting since 1936, making it one of the oldest coffee businesses in the UK. It began as a small local roaster in Mill Hill, serving a family-run grocery, and is now managed by Colin Smith, the third-generation owner, operating from a larger facility in Hemel Hempstead.

Colin is a founding member of what became the Specialty Coffee Association and continues as an SCA Ambassador and Trainer. The product range is unusually wide for a roaster of this size: alongside standard blends and single origins, Smith's produces flavoured coffees, Nespresso-compatible biodegradable capsules under the Capetti brand, organic and Fairtrade options, a Wildlife Collection that supports endangered species, and a tea range.

The business supplies the UK, Ireland, Central and Eastern Europe, and parts of the Far East.
