Ringtons was founded in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1907 by Samuel Smith, originally as a door-to-door tea delivery service. It remains a family business and has grown into one of the largest tea manufacturers in the UK, producing 45 million drinks per week from its BRC AA* rated factory in Newcastle.
The business still delivers tea and coffee direct to customers. The business-facing side of Ringtons covers speciality grade Arabica coffee roasted by SCA-qualified staff including an in-house Q grader, alongside one of the largest selections of commercial coffee machines available in the UK and Ireland.
It creates bespoke private label speciality coffee for businesses ranging from independents to major retailers. The coffee operation is a relatively recent addition to a business built on tea, and the roastery sits within the Newcastle factory.
Ringtons primarily serves the B2B market, including offices, hotels, garden centres, and health facilities.
