Mr Tinto

Mr Tinto Coffee Roasters is a Colombian-founded, Croydon-based roastery started in 2017 by Francisco, who began by selling Colombian coffee from a bicycle outside East Croydon station. The name references the Colombian tradition of calling black filter coffee 'tinto' and those who sell it 'El Señor de los Tintos.' The business sources exclusively from family-owned Colombian farms, with an emphasis on traceability back to the specific grower.

The roastery imports directly from Colombia in small batches, covering single origins and blends roasted in London. It serves the South London community through its café and online, and runs wholesale and events programmes.

The 9th Anniversary Limited Edition, a micro-lot pink and yellow bourbon washed coffee named after a long-standing employee, is a good example of the producer-level specificity the business builds into its range.
