MacBeans has been roasting coffee and selling tea from Aberdeen since 1989, making it one of the longer-established independent roasters in Scotland. It operates a retail shop in the city centre open seven days a week, alongside an online store, and carries a notably wide range that takes in single origins from Uganda, India, Sumatra, Costa Rica and beyond.
The tea side of the business is substantial, with a range that includes oolongs, yellow teas and flavoured blends. The roastery stocks organic coffees and runs a subscription service.
The combination of coffee roasting and specialist tea retailing under one roof is unusual and reflects the breadth the business has built over three and a half decades.
