Island Roasted

Island Roasted is the roasting operation of the I.O.W Espresso Co., based in Newport on the Isle of Wight. The business grew out of event catering, with the founders turning to roasting after finding their suppliers lacking.

The first shop roaster went into production at their cafe, Caffe Isola, in 2010, and demand grew quickly enough that a dedicated roastery was established by 2013, using a Diedrich IR12. The operation has since expanded significantly.

A vintage Vittoria 20kg roaster, sourced from Sicily, was restored and put into production alongside the IR12, giving a combined production capacity that the team found too useful to split up. In 2014, Island Roasted was awarded Wight Marque status, a scheme recognising products genuinely made on the island.

The roastery now operates from a larger site, with single origins exclusively roasted on Thursdays.
