Horsham Coffee Roaster started in 2012 in a garage in West Sussex using a 1kg roaster, selling through a stall at Horsham food market before transitioning to wholesale and online. The business has grown to a team of 5 and now roasts on a Loring S35, an energy-efficient roaster.

In 2014 they opened Bond Street Coffee in Brighton in partnership with Chris Campbell, and in 2018 they co-opened Urban Botanica in Kennington, South London. The sourcing approach has developed into direct and near-direct relationships with specific farms and cooperatives, described on their site as 'relationship coffees', with named lots from Costa Rica, Rwanda, Kenya, Brazil, and Peru appearing in the current range.

The Loring S35 is noted specifically for its fuel efficiency relative to traditional drum roasters.
