Eve MacFarlane founded Argyll Coffee Roasters in 2018, roasting from a unit on Kames Industrial Estate on the Kintyre Peninsula. In the years since, they have picked up Great Taste Awards for both their signature blends: Clyde Steamer (espresso) and Argyll's Secret Roast (filter), with Clyde Steamer also taking Silver at the Great British Food Awards 2024.

They did their first origin trip to Colombia and hosted the first ever Argyll Coffee Festival. HRH The Princess Royal visited the Hayshed Gallery, where the roastery's coffee bar is based.

Eve and head roaster Michael are SCA-trained across green coffee, barista, brewing, and roasting. Argyll Coffee Roasters are members of the Coffee Roasters Guild and Food From Argyll, a local cooperative promoting Argyll produce.

They source from Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Brazil through importers, and stock a range of equipment. Subscriptions and wholesale are both available.
