Coffee roasters in Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire's coffee roasting is concentrated around Milton Keynes. Andes Project roasts at Stony Stratford, Doe & Fawn at The Grainstores on Crabtree Farm near Aspley Guise, and Milk and Beans in Milton Keynes itself, where it describes itself as the town's first speciality roaster. Barista Cats in Beaconsfield is the only one of the 4 in the south of the county. Andes Project has built its whole range around Venezuelan coffee, a producing country that rarely reaches the British market at all.

Gaby, who is Venezuelan, runs the sourcing at Andes Project and Ross handles the roasting. The monthly subscription is capped at a small number of members, which lets it favour rare lots. Doe & Fawn was founded by Aaron, who has spent around 15 years in coffee and held most of the jobs in it, and Mike, who came from retail. They roast to order at the farm, open to the public on Saturday mornings, and run a coffee school for home brewers and for wholesale customers. Milk and Beans buys through the importer Raw Material and publishes its sourcing in unusual depth, tracing its Colombian lot to producer groups around Pitalito that represent close to 300 families. Barista Cats hand roasts to order in Beaconsfield and is known well beyond the county for its coffee advent calendar, picked as a top choice by Good Housekeeping, House Beautiful and The Sun across 2021, 2022 and 2023.
